Es totalmente inadmisible basar el saber sobre bandas de rock en sus discos recopilatorios o "grandes éxitos". Esa clase de discos ni siquiera puede aceptarse como un regalo para introducir a alguien en el conocimiento de una banda. Es más, en caso de que tengan muchos "grandes éxitos" o "lo mejor de" en sus estantes, es mejor esconderlos. 

It is totally unacceptable to base the knowledge of rock bands in their compilations or "greatest hits". That kind of discs can not even be accepted as a gift to introduce someone in the knowledge of a band. Further more, if you have many "greatest hits" or "the best of" in your shelves, it is better to start hiding them.

Consejo 12. Advice 12

No está bien romper instrumentos. Estamos absolutamente en contra de esa práctica dentro del rock. Pero si vas a hacerlo porque sentís que esa es una actitud de rockstar, aseguráte por lo menos de tocar la guitarra como Pete Townshend. Y en caso de quemar una, es mejor ser Jimmy Hendrix. 

It is not ok to break instruments. We are absolutely against that practice inside the world of rock. But if you are gonna do it anyway because you feel that it is a rockstar attitude, then be sure that at least you play the guitar as Pete Townshend does. Just in case that you burn a guitar, it is better to be Jimmy Hendrix. 

Consejo 11. Advice 11

Dentro del mundo del rock se puede comprobar que aquellos músicos que se han drogado y lograron superar su adicción, conservan su voz intacta, mientras que no sucede lo mismo con los que se han dedicado al alcohol. Mick Jagger y Robert Smith son dos ejemplos del primer grupo. Keith Richards y Ozzy Osbourne pertenecen al segundo. Siempre es bueno recordar que el slogan dice. "Sexo, drogas y rock and roll" y no "Sexo, alcohol y rock and roll"

Inside de world of rock you can see that those musicians who have taken drugs and managed to overcome their addiction, keep their clean voices; but it doesn't happen the same with those who have fallen in the hands of alcohol. Mick Jagger and Robert Smith are two examples of the first group. Keith Richards and Ozzy Osbourne belong to the second one. Just in case it is good to remind that the slogan says: "Sex, drugs and rock and roll", and not: "Sex, alcohol and rock and roll"

Cualquier clase de antagonismo entre bandas de rock que provoque que alguien sea fan de una y rechace a la otra, sólo es admisible hasta los 15 o 16 años en vistas de que se está formando la personalidad. Si luego de esa edad, la vida de un ser humano se sigue basando en escuchar a los Beatles y rechazar a los Rolling Stones, a The Cure por sobre The Smiths o a Blur en lugar de Oasis, no sólo se está perdiendo de mucho, sino que se es bastante idiota. 

Any kind of antagonism between rock bands that provoques that someone be a fan of one of them and rejects another for that reason, is just admissible till you are 15 o 16 years old, because you are forming your personality. If after that age, the life of a human being is still based on listening to The Beatles and rejecting The Rolling Stones, to love The Cure and deny The Smiths, or prefer Blur instead of Oasis, that someone not only is loosing a lot, but he or she is pretty stupid. 

Consejo 9. Advice 9

Nunca confíes en alguien que ante la pregunta de qué música escucha, no es capaz de enumerarte sus bandas favoritas, sino que te dice que escucha de todo. Ninguna persona de bien es capaz de escuchar y gustar de toda clase de música.

Never trust in someone who tells you that he or she likes all kinds of music. People who say something like that and who are absolutely unnable to mention their favourite bands are not good people. Nobody is able to listen and like all the music.

Consejo 8. Advice 8
